My experiences as an online reseller getting gifts during the holidays.
People that sell on sites such as eBay, Amazon, or any other online marketplace can be hard to purchase gifts for because chances are, they have everything.

When I get gifts for christmas, I am often more excited about the box the item is shipped in, and the packing materials found inside more than the actual gift itself so I decided to come up with the holiday gift guide for the online seller.

Selling on Amazon FBA requires special equipment & supplies compared to other platforms so I will focus on some of those in our holiday gift list.
When it comes to equipment and supplies for the rest of the marketplaces, they pretty much overlap so the rest of the information on the list will cover all marketplaces.
Amazon is my go to when purchasing supplies and equipment. With my Amazon Prime membership, I get all of my orders usually within two days which is a must when I am running short on shipping supplies, or I want to get something fast.
eBay is my second pick for purchasing supplies and equipment. Unlike my Amazon Prime membership, it can take quite some time to receive my orders, and the quality of those orders can be poor, but if you are on a budget this is a good place to go.
If you know that your online seller is in need of some storage or organizational items, then a gift card for Lowes or Home Depot is a great idea. I like to be able to go into a store and look at & measure shelving, and assess the quality of organizational totes before I buy them so I know what I am getting is good
If I need something in an emergency I normally go to Staples or Office Max for business supplies.
Gift cards
Gift cards are the easiest thing when it comes to choosing a holiday gift for someone who sells online. With gift cards your sellers will be able to order shipping supplies, and equipment online, or they can shop local, and pick out exactly what they are looking for.
Subscriptions
Selling online can be made either with certain memberships / subscriptions. The main subscription based service that I use is Amazon prime. It has a 30 day free trial, and then after that it is only $99.00 a year which gives you access to streaming movies, music, and best of all free two day shipping.

Equipment gifts

You know the saying " A picture is worth a thousand words "? Well when it comes to selling online, it is 1000% true so why not give your online seller the ability to take great pictures using a photography cube.
With today's mobile market smart phones & tablets there is no need for a fancy digital camera. The days of taking pictures with your digital camera, and uploading the pictures to your computer are a thing of the past. If your online seller is still doing it this way, you can upgrade their efficiency by getting them a new smart phone or tablet. You can even print directly from your phone which means you have everything right at your finger tips.
Thermal printers are the best way to print shipping labels. They eliminate the need to cut, and tape shipping labels which can safe a TON of time, and money thanks to their ink & tonerless technology.

Another important aspect if selling on any online marketplace is having the ability to accurately weigh your orders so make sure they have a great scale to make sure all their packages are accurate.

Bulk shipping supplies
One of the biggest expenses with online selling is shipping supplies. I wish everyone would just give me shipping supplies for christmas because receiving bulk shipping supplies as a present means that I can go months without having to purchase more supplies. I use them on a daily basis, and will be reminded that someone cared enough to help provide me with the supplies.
Poly mailers are a great way to ship clothing and other non fragile items safely. They come in a large assortment of colors and sizes to help your online seller stand out from the competition.
Bubble mailers are sort of like poly mailers except they have more cushioning for items that require more support during shipment. They also come in various colors similar to the Poly mailers which will help them stand out from the competition.
A case of shipping tape can last over a year for some online sellers. There is nothing worse than running out of tape. Without it, you are not shipping your packages out. Tape is EXTREMELY expensive in the stores, so I always am happy to get an entire case as a gift.

Another thing that will stop an online seller in it's tracks is running out of paper, or thermal labels so I always appreciate it when someone gets me a good amount which can last me up to a year.

Conclusion.
Online sellers have a LOT of expenses to deal with due to all of the consumables, and equipment required to run an online business. Most people who are dedicated online resellers would much rather have supplies and equipment over gifts for themselves. They are sellers to the core so give them a gift they can actually use.
