Mercari allows you to view items that have recently sold. It isn't as obvious like ebay's completed listings, but if you want to find out if an item you want to sell has sold in the past. Simply search for your item in the search bar, and items that have a red sold tag in the upper left hand corner has recently sold. Visit our store for all your online selling needs.

Have good lighting There is no reason to poor pictures when you can pick up a nice photography kit that is less that $40.00 on Amazon.
Make sure your photos are high quality and not blurry. A bad photo says much more than you think. If you don't' care about your photo why should anyone else? If you need a cheap camera that takes good pictures consider a Nikon cool pics which won't burst your wallet.

Price your items competitively. Sellers are looking for deals so when I price my items, I actually price them around higher end garage sale prices.
If you are trying to sell more on Mercari, it is important to know that you should list items on a daily basis. If you do not, your listings will get pushed to the bottom, and no one will be able to see them.
The more listings you have the more likely you will sell something, due to the buyer doing a search.
Answer questions promptly.
Sundays are prime time for sales.
Use tags at the bottom of each listing with relevant keywords that your buyers may be searching for.
The Mercari search engine reads the title and the entire description.
Having as many relevant keywords in your description will give you maximum

exposure.

Customers on Mercari will often as to bundle items to save on shipping. Mercari doesn't promote it, but I do it all the time.

Bundling example

Say the buyer wants four items.

Deactivate ( Not delete ) 3 of the 4 items the customer would like to purchase.
Place 1 photo of each item into the 1 listing that is still active.
Change the title to do not buy bundle for ****** username. Insert photos into that listing.
Change description, selling, price, and shipping weight.
Once the customer has purchased the bundle, it is safe to delete the deactivated listing.
Deactivating rather than deleting will keep you from having to redo the listings IF the transaction doesnt go through.

Mercari covers the shipping, but it is important to know how to ship using Mercari so you can take advantage of some of the unknown tricks that Mercari doesn't tell you about. Make sure you have a scale. You can get them for less than $20.00 on Amazon and if you have an Amazon prime account you can have it within 2 days. Tier 1 - First class shipping

Make sure your package does not weigh over 13 oz.

Tier 2 - up to 5 lbs

Mercari says that Tier 2 only goes up to 3lbs, but each tier is actually 2 lbs higher than advertised so you can stay in Tier 2 shipping up to 5 lbs.

Tier 3 - up to 12 lbs

Tier 4 - up to 22 lbs

Do not do holds.
Do not do trades
Do not accept lowball offers.
Add your rules to every listing to keep buyers from offering lowball and other leaving other disruptive comments.
Read the selling rules, and follow them.
Got an annoying or nasty buyer? You can block them!
Mercari takes care of all payments.

Pay day is once a week (monday), have your money sent to your checking account at least by Saturday. If you do it on Sunday you might have to wait another week.

Tips & tricks on getting free shipping supplies for Mercari

Go to your local recycling center and dumpster dive for cardboard boxes.
Dollar stores have lots of great boxes for shipping your Mercari items.
Ask friends and family members for bubble wrap and packing peanuts.
In a pinch, newspaper will work as filler material, but isn't recommended. You may be able to find quality packing paper at the recycling center as well.

Tips for dropshipping on Mercari

Dropshipping on Mercari is against the rules and can get your account banned, but there are many people who want to dropship from other sources such as Amazon so they do not have to find products to sell. Use these tips at your own risk.

Do not use Amazon's product photos. This is a dead givaway that you are droppshipping on Mercari.
One way would be to purchase a product you intend to sell on Mercari and take your own pictures.
There are thousands of products on Amazon that you could resell on Mercari and make a decent profit.

Find photos on the internet of your product that are not actual product pictures. Just make sure they have proper licensing for use.
