Sunday scammers on Mercari - $10.00 credit scam

Mercari credit scammers warning

Buyers beware.   Scammers on Mercari have been found setting up fake listings offering a $10.00 credit to leave them feedback if you logged into their site, and left them feedback 

The listing appeared as though it was directly listed by Mercari.  

They were also listing the offer on other people's comment sections.   Mercari has been good about removing these adds as there are currently none on there.   Mercari sent an official statement via text message as shown on the left.

At Mercari, we strive to provide a safe and friendly environment for all users, but keeping the marketplace safe is a team effort!   Here are some helpful tips to keep safe:

1. Never provide personal information such as a cell phone number, email address, or other contact information to a prospective buyer or seller.

2. Don't follow any links in COmments or transaction messages.

3. Mercari will never ask for your account or person information or instruct you to visit a website in any comments or transaction messages.

4. Mercari pormotions or surveys are not advertised via comments or transaction messages.

5. Never rate or release funds before the items is received and you have confirmed that it is as described, and you do not with to file a return request.
