How to start selling on Mercari

How to start selling on Mercari -  Step #1 - The download

Mercari can be downloaded for Android or iPhone.  Since I am using my iPhone, I will be focusing on that.  The instructions may differ slightly between device types.

Type in "Mercari" in the app search bar, and select anything that resembles the circled entries.

You will know you have the correct app when you see the Mercari logo shown above.

How to start selling on Mercari -  Step #2 - The install

Once Mercari has been downloaded with your Android or iPhone you will be given the option to install the app on your phone select the  in "Install Mercari" option which should be the only option available.  

If you have already downloaded the program, it will show "Open" like shown.

Step 3

How to start selling on Mercari -  Step #3 - Open & create an account

Once the Mercari application has been downloaded open up the application, and setup your account.   

Your account setup consists of things like:

• Setting up your profile

• Addresses

• Payment plans

• Banking information

• Identity Confirmation

• Gender

• Ect

How to start selling on Mercari -  Step #4 - List something

Now that you have your account / profile setup with all of your information, you are now ready sell your first item.  

In the lower right hand corner you will see a red circle with a white camera logo.  Push this button to create your first Mercari listing.

Photos

Once you select the sell item button,   your camera will come up so you can take up to 4 photos of your item.   It is important to get good clear photos  so your customers know exactly what they are buying.

Description

Item name -  This is the name of your product.  You only have 40 characters so use them wisely.  Think of what your customer is going to type when they are looking for this item.   Don't use objective wordsd like cool, awesome, amazing ect.  No one is going to search for them, and they are just a waste of space.

Item description -  This is where you are going to describe your item.   Be as accurate as possible in describing the condition, size, coloring, or any other important characteristic of the item.   Being as descriptive as possible will help avoid returns.   

Use this space to also describe services such as returns, bundling options, shipping, and any other terms you would like known.

Category -  Select the category that best fits your product

Condition - Select the condition that best fits your product

Shipping

Fee -  Mercari offers fixed, low rate shipping labels.  Just select the size of your package, and they will email you a label.   In this area you decide if you want to charge your buyer, or you can choose to pay for the label yourself ( not recommened)  The shipping services you can choose between are Fedex and USPS.   I would recommend using USPS personally.

Ships from -  Enter your location

Ships withing -  Enter handling time it is going to take you to package and get the product shipped.

LIST IT! - At the very bottom of the page, it will show you the commision, how much you will make, and your list button.  Select the list button and you have officially listed your first item on Mercari.
